What We Do

Hexavalent Chromium-Free Coating System

Morgan Ohare offers ZinKlad 250, ZinKlad 1000, and ZinKlad 1000B, a unique, hexavalent chromium-free coating system that meets industry demands for high performance surface treatments. It combines a homogenous metallic zinc deposit of 8 microns minimum thickness, with a high build iridescent passivates and clear topcoat. The unique properties of ZinKlad 250 consistently meet minimum performance demands for corrosion and torque modification.

ZinKlad 250 deposits are applied from our specialist range of Environing and Kenlevel branded zinc electroplating processes. These are formulated to provide uniform, bright and adherent zinc deposits that are ductile and rapidly achieve minimum thickness for optimum coverage.

ZinKlad 250 zinc systems are completed with the application of a high build trivalent passivate followed by a special topcoat layer.

ZinKlad 1000 is the high performance coating for automotive applications. Hexavalent chromium-free with a deposit hardness above 500 HVN it is extensively used for brake callipers, fasteners (including exterior and self-thread cutting) and fluid transfer tubes. Production proven for over 10 years, it delivers exceptional corrosion resistance coupled with consistent performance.

ZinKlad 1000 B the high performance black coating for automotive applications. Hexavalent chromium-free, with a deposit hardness above 500 HVN it is extensively used for exterior, interior, self-thread cutting fasteners and steel pressings. Production proven for over 10 years, it delivers an exceptional black appearance and corrosion resistance.

Trivalent Passivate & Topcoats

MacDermid TriPass ELV range of high build trivalent passivate films impart a silver-iridescent color, while providing corrosion resistance against the formation of white rust.

MacDermid HydroKlad, JS 500 and Torque’n’Tension branded topcoats provide increased corrosion resistance, modify surface tribology to ensure uniform torque and clamping characteristics.
